Like many who come to know this breed, we are now a family "owned" by Finnish Spitz! Karen grew up with Shih Tzus in a breeder family and competed in Junior Showmanship when young. And the Shih Tzu remains a big part of our life. But as Lucas became older, we wanted a dog with a little more size and more suitable to his personality. After researching various breeds, we settled on the Finnish Spitz and have never looked back. Leia clearly belongs to Luke first and foremost, while Hunter has taken over David's and Karen's hearts. Not growing up with dogs, David was less sure of this whole process while he diligently filled the holes in the yard. But Hunter has convinced him that every minute of trouble is worth it. The babies are an added bonus and are simply irresistable. We now belong to the Finnish Spitz Club of America, and these wonderful dogs will remain part of our lives for many years to come.
